SUSAN GIANINNO

Board Chair

Susan Gianinno serves as a board chair; She is currently is Senior Advisor at Publicis Group, having served as Chairman and CEO of Publicis North America since 2003.

Susan serves on several Corporate, University, and not-for-profit Board and Advisory Councils, including Save the Children, Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative, University of Chicago Social Sciences Council, Boston College (Trustee/Trustee Associate) and the Ad Council. Susan started in advertising while working on her Ph.D in Comparative Psychology from the University of Chicago. She has a Master’s Degree with high honors in Comparative Human Development from the University of Chicago, a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor’s Degree with honors from Boston College.

The recipient of numerous industry honors, Susan is a member of the YWCA’s Academy of Women Achievers and was selected by Advertising Age as one of the best and brightest “women to watch.” She was honored with the MATRIX Award for Women in Communications and has been recognized by Advertising Age as one of the “100 Most Influential Women in Advertising.” Susan received Boston College’s Excellence in Commerce Award.Susan is a Board Member for RR Donnelley and is Chair of their Governance Committee. She has been a Trustee and Trustee Associate at Boston College since 1991. Susan is a member of the Advisory Council for the Division of Social Sciences at the University of Chicago. She is currently Chair Emeritus of The Advertising Council’s Board of Directors, where she has been on the Board since 2003. Susan is on the Board of Directors at WorldTeach and was on the Board of The United Way of NYC for 10 years.
