About

America is the most age-diverse society in history, yet campuses remain highly age-segregated. Age segregation is not just a problem—it’s a missed opportunity to build valuable relationships and networks that can drive personal and professional growth.

Campus CoGenerate is an initiative designed to make campuses centers for cogenerational collaboration and learning, and to bring generations together to secure a more stable economic future for all.

Major partners include Campus Compact and the Stanford Center for Longevity.

Core Programs

The initiative has three major components:

The Big Ideas Challenge to Reimagine Higher Education

The CoGen® Big Ideas Challenge lifts up visionary ideas and innovations that can transform campuses into thriving centers for intergenerational collaboration and learning.

“Historically, local colleges and universities have served as anchors for education and innovation. Today, they can also become catalysts for intergenerational living, learning and workforce development.”

Founder, Live Together, Inc.

The Campus CoGenerate Affinity Network

The Campus CoGenerate Affinity Network connects 100+ faculty, staff, students, and community partners working to bring cogeneration to their higher ed institutions. Members share resources, exchange best practices, and access expert support through monthly virtual meetings.

If your institution is a Campus Compact member, join the Campus CoGenerate Affinity Network here. If your institution is not yet a member, you can learn more here.

“Cogenerational models can create vital networks, mentorship, and pathways to leadership, allowing students and communities to co-create solutions and drive lasting social impact.”

The Student Ambassador Program

The CoGenerate Student Ambassador Program empowers student leaders to spark intergenerational collaboration on campus. Through monthly cohort meetings, hands-on research and facilitation activities, participants build skills in project management and communication while contributing to the growing national movement for cogenerational collaboration in higher education.

“I want students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members to collaborate across ages and roles because they genuinely see each other as co-creators of knowledge and positive change.”
