Alex Edgar is a Gen Z civic leader reimagining how institutions share power across generations, building the trust, structures, and skills that allow every generation to thrive together. As co-founder of Youth250 at Made By Us, he has helped position young people as central leaders in shaping the nation’s 250th anniversary, reaching more than 2.5 million people and engaging 7,500 organizations nationwide. There he runs the Youth250 Bureau made up of 100 paid advisors, ages 18–30, from 45 states and territories, who collectively contribute 10,000 hours of youth-centered advising. 

Alex is the inaugural Losey Visiting Voice at the SHRM Foundation providing strategic insight to deepen understanding of next-generation and intergenerational workforce dynamics and their implications for the future of work and American communities. He also advises the HEDEX Initiative, a collaboration between Campus Compact, AAC&U, More Perfect, and the University of Virginia’s Karsh Institute of Democracy, aimed at strengthening civic ecosystems through higher education. He also serves as the sole youth advisor to a foundation with an over billion-dollar endowment, guiding a multi-year, eight-figure expansion of its youth development investment strategy at regional and national levels. 

He is a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, recipient of the John Lewis Youth Leadership Award from the National Association of Secretaries of State, and Hidden Hero Award from the Andrew Goodman Foundation. He serves on the Board of Directors for Points of Light and was the youngest-ever appointee to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2030 Advisory Committee.
