David T. Hsu is a Senior Director at Omidyar Network, the social change venture established by philanthropists Pam and Pierre Omidyar. He oversees program strategy, grantmaking, and partnerships aimed at strengthening people’s power to shape the digital revolution. He led the firm’s Building Cultures of Belonging portfolio team and was part of its future sensing unit.

A cultural strategist and social scientist with 20 years of cross-sector experience, David previously worked at the Hollywood-based impact consultancy Propper Daley, community organizing tech startup NationBuilder, University of Pennsylvania, and the tech section of the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division. A frequent speaker on what it takes to build belonging in our diverse democracy, he wrote “Untethered: A Primer on Social Isolation” and serves on the boards of Inclusive Action and CoGenerate.

David holds a Ph.D. in international political economy from Princeton University and B.A. from Duke University. He lives in Los Angeles.
